SUNDAY SITREP, 05APR

Greetings!

So, 3D printing is simply amazing. I have been off to the races after all of my Amazon orders arrived. After carefully assembling the A1, I downloaded the "Bambu Handy" app, made some adjustments, and I was already through my first test print. Great Success!

There are hundreds of STL files which are applicable to Wargaming. Everything from actual miniatures to game tokens to terrain (my favorite). I've been posting most of the journey to the GENERATUS section of this website and will continue to do so. I have yet to branch out to the various holders of STL files to include: Cults 3D, Thingiverse, Printables, Creality Cloud, Thangs, Maker Online, and Myminifactory... the list goes on but I'm happy with what's in Makers World for right now.

I've been careful to keep the various prints within a reasonable print time but have finally branched out to my first significant 8+ hour grind in the form of a gothic platform that can be adorned with sand bags and such to make for a fitting in-game last stand. The print turned out great! I've completed around 24 total hours in various prints so far and am wondering when I should lubricate the slide and grease the Z axis... a Google search says once a month or the printer will tell me. Absolutely everything you need to know is a "Youtube" away.

BTW, I have affectionately named the printer "Skeet-Skeet." Google search it. That reminds me, I need to print a name tag for him.

You may be asking, "why the break from painting?" Well, I moved into the new apartment and am still awaiting delivery of all of my stuff. Yes I have the lion's share of paints and tools and can probably dive in. However, I can't get in the zone when trying to paint on a folding TV-dinner table and/or boxes. So I'm choosing to grow my knowledge on 3D printing and adding to the collection; all of which contributes to the same end goal 'to maximize table top warfare emersion.'
