Another wonderful week of 3D printing! If you haven't checked out the GENERATUS page, you should so you can see how production is at full tilt.

Some of my household goods have finally arrived and I got to test out one of my tables. I thought by lowering it to it's lowest height setting it wouldn't wobble very much... I was wrong. Even with the wobble caused by the violent nature of the printer, prints seem to be coming out ok. Regardless, I'm going to need to get a sturdier table

for my own sensibilities. I found a model on Amazon that might do the trick but have not pulled the trigger on it just yet. I'll check out Home Depot first. (That mission failed... they had none). Originally, I thought I was going to get an extra long table to prepare for an additional 3D printer but I'm concerned that both of their actions at the same time will have an effect on one another. So, I'll just focus on a size that can fit my current set up.

Warhammer 40k, 11th Edition is knocking on our doors. Release date is set for some time in June and it sounds like the rules are getting tweaked quite a bit. One that is hitting close to home is in regards to objectives. They will no longer be 6 sized circles spread through out the board but rather key terrain. This is good and bad. The terrain sizes will take the shape as follows:

  • Four Large Rectangles: 7" x 11.5"

  • Two Large Right Triangles: 8" x 11.5"

  • Four Medium Rectangles: 6" x 4"

  • Two Long Lines: 10" x 2.5"

  • Four Short Lines: 6" x 2"

This leaves me to wonder about terrain that doesn't match the sizes indicated, and/or is a larger terrain feature. Granted, all of the details have not slipped out but since a lot of what I'm doing with 3D printing is terrain focused... it's just really important to know. I think I will get some MDF and cut out flat dimensions and stay as close as I can to not effect game balance.

This Nuclear Silo took around 20+ hours spread over 2x days. For some background, I found a free STL on Maker World of a much smaller version and then enlarged it and "sliced" into two parts ensuring both were at max size. Now, imagine it with some weathering and enough battle damage so that models could use the inside for cover or even melee combat. I am super pleased with it!

More to follow!
