Greetings! 4x days off sure flew by! I'd like to say I got a lot accomplished and I guess I kind of did. Most of it is undocumented and I was dabbling in various techniques. I'll try to hit some of the highlights.

Project: Tuman. The idea was to create a small terrain piece to honor my son who is now living in SE Asia. However, despite my best efforts, "Mission Failed" on this one.
Honestly, I think the palm trees are what took up most of the time for this project. Flashing, priming, zenithal layer, green and yellow washes, setting magnets, and gluing palm leaves... 5x hours easy. For the island portion, I used an air-dry clay which I have never used before. It probably took about an hour to get it into the right island shape with magnets imbedded into the clay. It looked like it was going to come out perfect, complete with a central portion having an oasis. However, not even 5x hours later, the clay started cracking and eventually completely crumbled off into puzzle piece sections.
The Local Art Store
On one of the days, after walking past my target art store for nearly 20 minutes, I doubled back and found it. It was Huge! 4x stories and such a variety I have not seen anywhere in Europe. It will have everything I need that is niche for the hobby and especially the materials for the Grim Dark aesthetic I'm after.
I picked up some Micro Art Pens, 2x part resin, & fabric for modelling tabards/capes. I also picked up a sturdy open wooden box, 8"x 8"... I have an idea to restore hope for the "Tuman Project".

I had a major break through with Ork Skin... I just don't know exactly how I did it! It was a cross of contrast paints, highlights, oil inks, back to highlights and then a wash. I'm going to try to pull it off one more time on a test model. It has the exact yellow color I was going for... like the leaf portion of a dying banana plant that's not quite brown yet.
5x Trukk Orks have been primed and zenithal layers applied... they are all awaiting the outcome of this latest skin-trial (yes again). I hope today can be the day! ("Others are waiting...")

I really think I'll add a dedicated page for some of these tests and trials. I'll have a concept image, images of the process, and then the final product. If I stick to the same format it's just plug and play. All I have to remember is to always take the images as I go. For instance, I created the miniature holder to the left which I will use when I want to paint a model and base separately. In about 6 images I could show you how I made it...
*This would be different from Terminus how? It would be more focused on techniques than finished products which Terminus will eventually become.
Otherwise, the Amazon Gods got their fair share of attention this week as well. I should have packages arriving up until the 15th of December.
Specialty bases from Dragon Forge for the Templar/Inquisition Crusade
Tripod mounted Gimble system (will be using an I-phone 17 Pro Max)
10" Light box for taking images
The Inquisitor Codex (I need to know what I'm converting)
A small desk on wheels & a slide out desk tray
Happy Holidays Everyone!
